It's finally come home!

12/04/01 - The English Super Patch is back. I have finally sorted out the problem with the corrupt file with many thanks going to Johan Karlsson and Lior. Between them, they have sent me all of the ESP files of which you can download by clicking the links below. The ESP is truly one of the great FIFA patches of all time and now you can get a piece of it, so what are you waiting for, download it now!

Using ESP with Sweetpatch MRA

When SweetPatch is installed, it creates a folder within the FIFA directory tree called MRA Patches

Open Windows Explorer, go to the MRA Patches folder and create a new folder in it. Call this ESP or English Super Patch. Whenever you install a patch in the MRA, you create a folder for it here.

You then run the ESP installation, making sure that you change the target directory to your newly created ESP folder. After the first part of the ESP has been installed, an icon called ESP Graphics will appear on your desktop. DO NOT USE IT YET! First, copy the FIFA99/Data/Feart folder from the CD-ROM to the Data folder that the patch installation has created in your ESP folder.

Once this has been done, go to the desktop and double click the icon. Again, ensure that your ESP folder is selected as the target.

Continue with the ESP Update, ESPY2K and ESP Millennium patches, each time selecting the ESP folder as the target. With the ESPY2K update, no shortcut icon is created, so you have to go to the ESP folder in Explorer and run a file called Update.bat manually (just double-click it).

Once all updates have been installed (NB they must be in the above order) you can also use the music update patch.

Start SweetPatch from the desktop icon, highlight the ESP and click install patch. This takes between two and four minutes to complete, due to the size of the patch. Once complete, insert your FIFA99 CD-ROM (hold down left shift to prevent auto-load), then click launch FIFA. You will now be playing with the English Super Patch installed, which is obvious from the first screen.
