An English Super Patch Bug Report -------------------------------------------------------- (By Chris Davies) Let me take this oppurtunity to thank everybody out there who has sent E-Mails containing bug reports, and even just E-Mails saying Thank You! They are all appreciated, and from today, I'll do the best to reply to them all - as long as I don't have as many as I had this morning; about 50 arrived! Still, this is a good thing, as I now know what to fix and what to tell you all. Here is an F.A.Q. for ALL of the problems reported to me so far... Frequently Asked Questions -------------------------------------------- Q1. Zola (from Chelsea) is being called Ekstróm by the commentators! A1. This is a minor fault which I am working hard to fix, but at the moment, no answer has been discovered. Q2. The Nationwide League teams are not included! A2. They were never meant to be in this first version of the E.S.P.! As it says on the official E.S.P. page (www.fifa99.net/esp/) as you scroll down to the very bottom of the page - "There are going to be 2 versions of the English Super Patch - the first (v1) will NOT have the English Nationwide Leagues replacing the Rest of Europe league, so that if you only want the patch for it's fantastic Premiership kits (EVERY SINGLE ONE!), Premiership adboards, Premiership ball, Premiership updated menu screens and logos (e.g. the EA Sports logo on the Main Menu screen, the FIFA 99 logo on the Main Menu screen, etc.) updated stadium pictures, updated stadium names, and more, and not for it's Nationwide League teams (which do ruin some cups and the European Super League), then this is the patch for you. Shortly after the release of the first version (v1) of the E.S.P. will follow the second version (v2), so that you can enjoy playing with all of your favourite English Nationwide League teams with accurate kits and players, Nationwide adboards, Nationwide League ball, Nationwide League updated menu screens (including a border made out of most of the team badges!) and logos (e.g. the EA Sports logo on the Main Menu screen, the FIFA 99 logo on the Main Menu screen, etc.) updated stadium pictures, updated stadium names, and more!" Q3. Where are the updated graphics in the E.S.P.? A3. Click on the new E.S.P. Graphics Update icon on your desktop! You obviously haven't read the message that appeared after the installation had finished... If you get any "Fatal Errors", this is because when you installed FIFA 99, you didn't do a FULL installation. To do this, un-install FIFA 99, go to install FIFA 99, and when you have the oppurtunity, click on Custom. This will let you select what you want installing. SELECT EVERYTHING! Then, when FIFA 99 is installed, install the official EA Sports FIFA 99 patch (if you want it!) and then the E.S.P.! Q4. Whenever I quit the game, I get an error message! A4. You are not alone! This is only another minor fault, so don't worry about it. Q5. Some adboards in the stadium are the wrong way around! A5. To cut a long story short, it's the way EA Sports have designed the stadium models. Whatever you put in the stadium is just mirrored all the way around, so on one side everything looks brilliant, but on the other everything is reversed. Q6. You should have a "Readme" file! A6. There is! The second step of the installation is the "Readme" file, with the authors at the top, and some instructions and notes at the bottom! If you still need one, a copy of it can be downloaded in .txt format from http://www.fifa99.net/esp.html Q7. There are "Fatal Errors" when I try to run the E.S.P. Graphics Update program (see Q3)! A7. Q8. No new music is heard after the installation of the music add-on! A8. Thankfully, this is an error that can be fixed! A patch for it will be released VERY soon! Q9. There is a 1. in front of the German league name! A9. Thankfully, this is yet another error that can be fixed! A patch for it will be released VERY soon! Q10. All of the flags for the International teams have changed! A10. I am looking into it as we speak... Once again, thank you for all of your support and bug reports. Bye for now! Chris Davies ----------------------------------
