======================================= Mostafa Ashour's FIFA99 Tips and Hints ======================================= Well, I decided to write this file when I searched all over the net for Fifa99 tips and found none. I also noticed that all FIFA99 sites are practically the same, they are all some kind of www.fifa99.net rip-offs! They have added nothing new to the content of fifa99.net! They offer no helpful tips or tricks. I have decided to write this file because i have gained a lot of experience in FIFA99 after playing it for about 6-7 months now! Anyway, sorry for the long introduction and excuse me for any grammatical or spelling mistakes as English isn't my native language as I come from Egypt (Land of the Pharaohs and mother of the world). Before Beginning : ================== THANKS EA FOR MAKING SUCH A WONDERFUL GAME. Tips and Tricks : ================== 1) In Corner kicks, spin the ball to the maximum in direction of the goal line. Move the directing arrow slightly to the direction opposite to the goal line. Now raise the arrow to the maximum height it can reach and press the lob button (A in the keyboard) for about a 1.5 to 2 secs. Then press and hold the D-button for a great header past the goalie. I know this tactic needs practice and you will not be able to score from the first attempt. It works best when you are playing with 3-4-3 formation. 2) I have found out that the 3-4-3 formation with the defense line adjusted to sweeper position is the best tactic. It allows you to make successive horizontal passes in the offense line between the three offensive players leading to a goal in the end. 3) In Corner kicks again, but this tactic works best with a 4-4-2 formation. Press E twice in order to get the crosshair view. Move the crosshair to the far offensive player then move it so that it becomes on the same vertical line with the player and the same horizontal line with the penalty spot (Assuming that you play with the normal camera name??). Now press the shoot button (D) then keep tapping the shoot button (D). In 90% of the cases this will end up in the back of the net! 4) If you want to beat the computer in World Class mode then you have to learn how to use the skill modes. The skills that work best with the computer in World Class mode is : A) Alt or Ctrl + E (Step Over Nutmeg) B) Alt or Ctrl + D (360 spin) C) Q (Avoid tackle) Skills A and B are usually used to overcome the (Button-D) type tackle! While Skill C is usually used to overcome the (Button-A) type slide tackle! 5) Pass! Pass! Pass! This is one of the key methods in winning in FIFA99! 6) Try to use the E button while you have the ball in order to make a through pass. This is especially useful when you press E button while willing to pass to (taking the direction of) the Left Middle (LM) or Right Middle (RM) Player when the CM has the ball or when willing to pass to the LCF or RCF when the CF has the ball. This is extremly difficult and it takes a lot of practice. 7) You can NEVER (except in extremely rare cases) score from a Free kick in a good Goalie except when the free kick is very close the penalty area so don't waste your time! 8) When one on one with the goalie always aim to one of the corners of the goal before shooting. Also wait for the goalie to step out of his goal before shooting! 9) Always shoot in the narrow part of the goal. I mean try to shoot in the place where the keeper is standing. This almost always results in a goal. I can't explain this very well because I can't find a good ENglish word for the narrow part of the goal. If you understand what I mean email me pls to tell me the word so that I can add it! 10) You can jump over the goalie with the Q (Avoid tackle) button or Ctrl+A button when he comes out to take the ball from you. This is extremely showy and can be used to impress your friends. 11) Try practicing the Offside trap (Button C on the keyboard).
